Interesting Glass Set

I saw this in Dillard's and fell in love. I don't know why I am so attracted to eclectic stuff ... maybe because I love good conversation pieces and unique things. (Does looking at this kind of make you dizzy?)

If you know of any more odd-shaped glasses, please post a link. (My glass of lemonade.)

Sick Cat

My daughter's cat has a little stomach upset and diarrhea. After consulting with the vet, we gave her cat a touch of stomach medicine and switched back to his original cat food. Cats get sick just like humans once in a while and only need a little care to get better. (Fortunately, cats usually don't get as sick as often.)

We also wonder if the lady bugs are a problem. She lives in an area that gets infested with them. One of her cats will eat any he finds on the floor.

Star Wars Trailer

The original Star Wars was my favorite movie of all time. The newer prequels have not measured up to the original three (isn't that usually the case?) but I have enjoyed them. This new trailer gives a hint of the next movie coming out this May. It looks like a depressing one, but it completes the circle. I won't go expecting a happy ending as much as I wish there could be one (well, there was, sort of, if you count the original 3, still ...)

New Flash Photo Display

My photo blog host, TextAmerica.com, now offers a cute little display of the most recent 12 photos on my site. Clicking on any photo goes directly to that image. (Seen at the top left of the home page here.)

Robots - The Movie

We saw this today - a cute movie -- and has been getting good reviews at RottenTomatoes.com. Some critics claim that there was not enough plot -- I disagree. It had a good clear storyline, enjoyable characters and fantastic animation. I liked the inside jokes aimed at Disney and Microsoft. Robin Williams was not overpowering and was perfect in this. I highly recommend it for families. The children in our audience were laughing as well as a very loud father behind us -- it was all okay, though. I love the sound of good laughter. I just wish there were a few less gas jokes. (Seems like every funny-type movie aimed at children has gas humor these days - that and a crotch kick. Both are predictably standard elements anymore.)

Darn Yellow Pole

Here I am, having no problem with drive-through windows. I go to my bank all the time like this. You can drive pretty close to the window and then pull straight out. Fast-food drive throughs are fine, too, BUT try going to our local CVS Pharmacy window.

First, you want to get very close so you can pick up the prescription and sign the board. Next, (and I forgot this step), you have to pull away VERY abruptly because just beyond the window is a large yellow pole which sticks out farther than the window does.

I was so used to going straight through other windows that I forgot about this pole sticking out so far and it popped off the rear view side mirror -- well, THAT cost $100 to fix. ::sigh::

Microsoft Windows Anti-Spyware Program-Free

Leo Laporte said in his radio technology talk show that the free Microsoft spyware program might be the best free one out there. It also prevents spyware from getting installed.

I've been using Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster, Spybot and, if things get really bad, Spy Sweeper. Spyware Blaster keeps the cookies from getting written in the first place, but it might be time to try Microsoft's program.

StrangePersons.com

Funny pictures here. The first thing coming up today is a collection of photos of signs for strangely-named companies. For example, there's this one.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Longer Trailer

This movie is going to be good! It's coming out on April 29th. (At least, I hope it will be good. The books were fantastically hilarious as is this preview.) Thanks to Aiguille for this link to the new exclusive online trailer --> http://hitchhikers.movies.go.com/main.html.
