This is Bufo americanus. A rather pretty toad..... at least when wet! Mostly seen on summer nights on the road or in the garden, as they search for food. These also have a fairly long breeding season - usually spawned by heavy rains, and several rounds of breeding may occur per season (April - late-July) - even in the North.

These were taken near Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
