Perhaps the greenest of our frogs, the Hyla cinerea prefers to live in the thick woody vegetation along (and overhanging) permanent bodies of water, and are sometimes hard to approach because of this, and sometimes small, bushy plants and trees growing out of standing water can harbor many of these. Very often attracted to lights, and these also do quite well in captivity.... unless their croaking keeps you awake at night! They often croak loudly at the approach of a storm.
