Page THREE
Here's some more cool views of the mountain - up close and personal!
A decomposing log.
It doesn't take long for a tree to return to the soil from which it came, here in this rich forest environment, and this is a good background image.
Here I am near the top of the highest peak, Pain-du-Sucre, or Sugar Loaf Mountain.
From Dieppe. Definitely not the highest peak..... but certainly one of the most dramatic! High cliffs and open rocky areas make this one of the most scenic areas!
Another view "from the edge"! Here I am high above rural Quebec, and this stunning background image shows the distant background in vivid detail.
Whenever I would drive past this mountain traveling the freeway, I couldn't help but wonder what was there, as I would look over at it and daydream about the day I would be able to discover the beauty of it for myself.... and that dream became a reality to me when Georges and I decided one day to venture over there! For one final picture, here's a picture of the mountain in the far distance, taken from inside the Biosphere, which was part of Expo '67, which is in Montreal, about 25 or 30 miles away from the mountain. The mountain in the foreground is Mont St-Bruno - similar to, but much smaller than St-Hilaire.
Thank you for visiting, and from here, you can return to the page you came from to get to Mt. St-Hilaire, just follow the links below -
