HISTORY

I was born in Glasgow in 1959 and lived with my parents in my grandmothers house in a village named Parkhall which is in Clydebank.

My dad now bought a house in Livingstone St also in Clydebank and we lived there until 1967 where a hurricane ripped through our house forcing us to move to Dalmuir which is also in the borough of Clydebank.

I started school when I was four years old at a school named "St Eunans" which is at the top of Kilbowie Rd left on to Montrose ST on your left halfway down the street and studied there until 1967.

I started at a new school in Dalmuir and that was named "St Stephens" I studied there until I went to secondary school in 1971 which was "St Andrews High"

During my time at St Andrews they decided to put the school leaving age up to sixteen which really freaked me out as not only did I start school a year early but they added another year on as well.

From 1970 to 1976 I played football for a few teams, strangely my first team was a Boys Brigade team the 6th Clydebank situated between Dalmuir and Parkhall in Jannetta St on the road up to the High School we were classed lowely in the league and conquered the mighty 1st Clydebank who were champions of everything. Score 1-1 FT and AET 6-1 that was for the J.S.Cup in 1971 at the "Reckie" on Lilac ave Dalmuir West/Mnt.Blo'

My next team I played for was Miller St school Rosebery St Clydebank.

We didn't play in an official league but our manager used to arrange matches against older and more classy teams from all around the whole of Glasgow. One game he did arrange at Glasgow Green was against the Glasgow Celtic Juniors Celtic hammered us 22-0 and a certain Tommy Burns played against us. Our manager was known as "Campshie" a knickname for someone called Campbell.

After a spell of not playing Fitba' my mum who now had started work at Drumchapel hospital met a guy who managed Arsenal Boys Club, a team based in the "Drum" we hardly ever lost a game but missed out on the league and got beat in a semi final by Motherwell Boys Club who I should mention played over aged players. They robbed me of a second medal.

All the local teams were after my talent, Newbridge Utd named after the Erskine bridge in Clydebank (we beat them all the time) Dalmuir Diamondsanother team from Clydebank were not even a match for us sure they even threatened me at school to cripple me what a laugh we hammered them and I scored a hat trick in front of my father at the gravel pitch on Agamenmon St Dalmuir Clydebank. I still have the cutting that was publicised in the Clydebank Press now known as the Clydebank Post. I moved to Jarra in '77 for a year or so and then went on to Stockton on Tees slipping back and forth between the two in that year until Sept '78 I then moved to Manchester where I became an Industrial Fencer my land mark fence in Manchester is the barriers in and around Pin Mill Brow and Ancoats I also did the Duke of Westminsters fence with my mentor Tommy Mallon.
