Fae Fai Fay

The fae have gone by many names in many different cultures; elf, fairy, Aes Sidh, sethean…Sethean when translated from Gaelic means unseen protectors; there are many tales (or fairy tales) about their exploits. Within the fae, themselves there are many races; to name a few would be sprites, brownies, leprechauns, fairies, and elves. Many of us believe that the fae live among us.

We also believe that some people have been touched, or have a touch of the fae in them. It is belived that this was a gift to the person from the fae when they were a newborn. Examples of this are those that have the gift of clairvoyance or as it is called in the Highlands of Scotland; "The Second Sight".

Others seem to have unnatural gifts of music and dance; we choose to explain this as a touch of the fae or a gift of the fae. There are other gifts instilled from the elf; and those are the gifts of the warrior, giving some the unexplained natural gifts of combat. Some of our legends say that in the days of old, fae have been romantically involved with mere humans.

A warrior friend of ours has been given a gift by the elves; our friend has stood in battle many times. Countless times our friend has survived when at times a normal human would have been hurt or killed.

Another friend of ours is a young lass that we know has been touched by the fae, though she is still yet wee she has amazing grace and passion when she dances. You can see the joy in this young girl's eyes as the pipes and drums play and she seems unable to keep her feet still.
