February 13th Gathering

Our theme for discussion this month is “Love Stories?  Why we tell.”  Celebrate the power of storytelling by sharing how and why telling tales is a part of your life.  And as always, we’ll have a story swap as well. PLEASE NOTE!  This month we are meeting on the 2nd Wednesday, since the school will be closed on the 3rd Wednesday for winter break.  We’ll be meeting at McLane Elementary School  (200 Delphi Rd. SW in Olympia) from 6-8 pm on Wednesday February 13th.   If you need a ride or would like to carpool, get in touch with one of the steering committee members.

Big Show City

I just received an email about the Big Show City festival, and thought I should pass the information along.  Big Show City is a festival celebrating all kinds of artistic performance, with an emphasis on those including the spoken word; theater, poetry, storytelling, etc.  This year, the festival will take place from May 9th to May 11th.  There is a General planning meeting Sunday February 10th, 3pm at Otto’s in downtown Olympia.  If you are interested in performing, they will be distributing performance entries around town soon!  If you have questions about getting involved, their email address is bigshowcity@yahoo.com.
