" Middlebergian " poetry by Lee * * * * * I was born in Doctors Inlet, Florida, Just a Little Country Town, We had a Big City Traffic Light, Where everything was found. * * * * * We shopped at our Post Office, Grocery, Hunting, Fishing, Store, Our Country School, Was only, Just Next Door. * * * * * Then I've gone to Oklahoma, And Hung Out, For Thirty Years, I have Learned a lot of Lessons, And Cried so many Tears. * * * * * Somehow I came Back Home, And Married a fellow Down the Street, I really think he's Special, And he is Really Kinda Sweet. * * * * * So now I am a Member, Where, So Near, I first begun, And Proud to be a Woman, A True, Live, Middlebergian. * * * * * Now did you say, this Outfit, Was made for Country Hicks ? Well, Just step a little closer, And I'll show you, My Country Fist. * * * * * I have seen the Wealthy, of the City, Where they couldn't get enough, I have also seen, the Very Poor, So Thankful for their Lunch. * * * * * So next time you see me, Near my town of Middleburg, Don't Laugh about them little Things, You thought, you may have heard, * * * * * For Honesty is our Motto, And there, we Treat our Neighbors Right, So if You Tread, upon my Path, Get Ready For a Fight.
