"My First Day" Poetry by Lee ‘Tis the first day, of the rest of my life, As my world begins to mend. My tears are dripping, my heart still yearning, Will I find, my one special friend? As I watch the little animals playing, So very content, and filled with delight, As the evening glowed, a reddish horizon, They warmly snuggled into the night. I discovered my old friend, the Owl, Why do you sit, so very alone? My son, I didn’t know I was lonely, Tonight I watch, as the animals roam. You really got to get yourself busy, Smell some dandelions, while drifting the street, Remember that tomorrow, may be to late, So enjoy in life's pleasures, while they're sweet. Then tomorrow, if Heaven should take you, You can yell, with thunder & Glee, My Lord has filled my life yesterday, And today, He gives me eternity.
