"Midnight Walk" poetry by Lee In Atlanta, with a friend, We strolled a Midnight walk, I was terribly delayed by then, with a little too much talk. A lady of the night, I Met, swinging her Pearly beads, Would you like to come upstairs, I will satisfy your dreams. I smiled & waved good-bye, as I declined her sweet invite, For a long walk, That I must make, as I travel this lonely night. As I Crossed the quiet street, A man warned me of his wrongs, And Begged me, that I follow not, his regrets he had so long. Beneath the fog, come a queer lost fellow, circling all around, I waved that he be gone, he vanished into the foggy town, A Drunk slithered forward, just thirty-five cents too short, For all he ever wanted, was to buy that one last quart. Be careful of the midnight walks, when taken in strange lands, For places much like this, aren't safe, not even for a man. And Kids, please consider, Before you run away, Don't let it be your last stop, or the ending of your day.
