"Old Sweet Thoughts" poetry by Lee The sun rises early each morning, At Dawn, peacefully it comes to end, While Reminiscing, on old, sweet thoughts, of a very special friend. Like the modern world we live in, We encountered an instant Love, The kind, most men would die for, As if, from Heaven above. My Heart would always tingle, Just to see her in the room, I never thought, the time would come, to see it end so soon. She worried about financial failure, So our parting seems so sad, Though Our Love was never finished, My kids still need their Dad. So here we walk on the road of Life, As we follow our separate trails, One day soon, may we cross again, with many more happy tales. Yet, we may have come to our Sunset, Of the precious years we planned, To find security in another friend, perhaps in another Land.
