Graphics by Sherrie "As Big As Daddy" poetry by Lee A Little Guy was I, at the age of only two, So many are the little things, that I wanted, so much to do. I would sneak quietly out of the bedroom, just to see the dark of night, A little reddish glow I saw, as my dad’s cigarette was lit so bright . There He was considering choices, from the work that he has done, While me, I was a little kid, And was busy having fun. My relatives were all farmers, My tractor was light & Green, As I would push it on the table, as I drifted through my dreams. When my mom, dragged out the Vacuum, to clean the dirty floor, I would run on over, to the socket, And plug in, the power cord. Rushing to the big black button, to crank the vacuum up, I could only watch my mom, so busy, as she vacuumed up the dust. In the Morning, my brother & sisters, were walking off to school, I leaned against the window pane, if I could just go too. I want to grow up, real soon, I'm sure that it won’t hurt, Then I'll be as big as Daddy, And I can go to Work.
