"Butterflies & Bugs" poetry by Lee Midi by Lee In the days when I was seven, A little boy was I, I reached into the air, To catch a butterfly. They were dressed in pretty colors, red, yellow & some blue, Our Lords colors of nature, the ones that are so cool. And then so late at night, The lightning bugs come out, We saved them in a jar, Twas the lanterns, we knew about. We watched their little flash, until the morning light, And sent them on their way, so we could get some more at night. The days, we were so little, The things that were such fun, Now all we have is memories, of the pleasant things we done. So whenever life seems dreadful, remember your favorite times, The cheerful days we remember, in the beginning of our lives. For God has given us wonders, as little children, we were so fond, More gifts in Heaven, are waiting, when our earthly life is gone.
