"Murphy" poetry by Lee midi by Lee In a desperate attempt, to regain our status, We came to the town of Green Cove. We never needed, to watch a television, In the streets, were awesome cop shows. The welfare, the Lost, and the Druggies, They all needed, a place to stay. Five years ago, it was the “Haven”, For those, who had little to pay. An old black cat, came to our house, My Wife and Kids invited him in. It was the first time, I ever loved a Cat, And our affection, to newly begin. On a cold winter day, we snuggled together, With his long, soft hair, And frigid nose, We secured our warm & loving hugs, Watching the old kerosine stove. One day, while he was crossing the street, A hurried car was rushing past, It was the day, My Cat went to Heaven, And my world, that almost collapsed. My Murphy is resting safely, Snuggling the fluffy clouds, Remembering our days together, And the Love, we both have found.
