"Easter Sunday 2001" poetry by Lee It was an Early Easter Morning, When I went to my sisters place, Ben my son, said, lets travel togher, So I can keep you safe. I rode my favorite motorcycle, And he preferred his sporty car, The Journey, a trip to never land, The travel, to be so far. Let's keep it under 85, It’s an awful Dewy night. So I really laid upon the gas, Before he got out of sight. We rushed on through The soggy rain, Trembling as we go, In a 150 miles, I said all the prayers I know. Our Lord answers prayers, they say, At least, I can attest to that, Like a bug, I was waiting for a windshield, Expecting that awful splat. We arrived before the family reunion, We even had time to rest, But getting off that high speed interstate, Was the part that I liked best. We told old stories, & took some pictures, And got a hug or two, Remembering Jesus, Ascended to Heaven, Just for Me & You.
