"Baby n Bassinet" poetry by Lee Many Long ,long years ago, Was a Little tike so small, Sleeping in a cloth bassinet, Somewhere near the Hall. Later Years, I Grew a bit, A little tike of two, Helping with the little chores, The best that I could do. Along came this relative, Hair black with some grey curl, Hey Boy, Rock my baby, Til he sleeps as quiet as a pearl. Well I Grit my teeth in Anger, And rocked him sound to sleep, But my little thoughts still churn in me, That awful lazy Creep. Many times she barged on in, To my peaceful world of play, I thanked My Lord, with all my Heart, That we moved so far away. Remember, we are loving creatures, From Our Lord & God Above, And we do not respect Our Elders, Who disrupt us without Love. So when you think you got away, And thought no harm has come, That little tike, may grow up some, And tell you what you done.
