"The Letter" Picture by Jan poetry by Lee I got a letter, from my friend, Her name is also Lee, She said, I went in for a check up, With Daughter, and grandson Jimmy, Tammie would be joining us soon, So I signed at the doctor's, Desk, As I looked out through the window, There was a crashing awful mess. Tammie was hit by a 4x4, And Grandaughter was only three, How they lived, I do not know, But Our Lord was very sweet. Tammie's car was spinning, Then a car hit her, once again, Blood was gushing from her head, I feared, this was her end. And Jimmy saw his Mom out there, And ran out toward the road, I reached to stop him quicky, Firmly gripping on his clothes. My daughter Ran, Out to his Mom, And the doctors joined her too. I thank Our Lord, That we all still live, Once the doctors were all through. May 6th of 2002 was this day, That I nearly lost my Son’s Dear bride, And My heart, has also skipped a beat, When my emotions took a ride. Our Lord has given a bit more time, With my family, My Earthly Love, May He keep them safe, Until I'm old enough, To join the angels, far above.
