Picuture by Bonnie Poetry by Lee "Blanding Bob " In the West side of Orange Park, Florida, On Blanding Blvd. You've Got, The Legendary Story, of the Homeless fellow, By the name of Blanding Bob. He was a strong, spirited, mid-aged fellow, That society couldn't beat. When times got a little hard on Him, He camped a bit farther down the street. He worked real hard, in the morning, Who knows just what he done, He walked to work, wearing a Big Red Coat, In the morning when his day begun. Every day, Just like clock work. Came our Old Friend, Blanding Bob, Evening, he carried his Red Coat back, As he returned home, from his Job. For two weeks, the town got worried, What happened to this poor old guy? Could he have gotten hit by car, And gone to the Mansion in the sky? That's when we heard, he had a brother, That he Went to see, for two long weeks, He took the bus to Tampa, And came back with Rosey Cheeks. One fine summer day, Lady Love said Howdy, And took him for a ride, He was walking that late night foggy air, With Lady Love right by his side. If you ever see, the quarter moon, Smiling brightly like a torch, The Moon is Watching, Blanding Bob, And his Lady, still courting on their porch. And if he ever goes to work again, You may be in, For a big surprise, He will be driving her Big Red Cadilac, With Lady Love, Right by his Side.
