Picture from Alligators " Terrible Pesty Kid " poetry by Lee He was a High School boy, Just fresh, from Marshfield town, Ready to take on challange, As good as any one around. You Ain't nothing but a Yankee, The coach said, smirkingly, Until you catch an Alligator, You ain't no southern boy to me. So Kenny went to see his friend, He called on Frankie Pope, Let's go & get an alligator, We can use my trusty, home made Boat, Hey Frankie, you're not wearing shoes, Aint you afraid of snakes? Ya, but I wanna to know what I'm steppin on, Man for goodness sakes. That night they were alligator Hunting, And brought back, only two, One little one to play with, And one as big as me & you. The big one's for the coach, We will bring him by for free, We rubbed the little Guy's belly, And watched him go to sleep. Coach's wife had a bath tub, That wasnt big enough, Let's Leave him on the back porch, In that great big, wide old tub. He's at a party. I will tell him that you stopped by, That you brought him a gift, On the back porch just outside. Later on, he checked His gift, The boys had left around, A yell & hoop & hollar, What a surprise, the coach had really found. Years later, I asked the coach, Remember that alligator gift? Oh Ya, Your awful brother, That terrible pesty Kid Now it's my turn, huh?
