Artist Unknown Poetry by Lee Early Days In the early days of the Bible, God has called for Sacrifice, He hoped to teach all men to share, And it seemed like good advice. But men pursued in other treasures, And chose another god above, So Our Lord needed another way, That man would learn to love. He tried to teach man abstinence, Maybe that would help. But man continued, just as hard, The struggle, to gain his Wealth. He taught, that Man must Worship, To appreciate Our Lord, Man still Loved His neighbor Not, For he wanted, so much more. So God sent the Flooding Waters, To wash away the Greed, In the Ark, He salvaged Noah's family, His Family of Faithful Breed. Then Our Lord reduced man's Years, Yet man continued to crave the Earth. So then he Sent, Our Baby Jesus, With a Star that marked His Birth. But Jesus tried so very Hard, So you may Let, Your Love Flow Free, And even then, the Greedy Man, Still nailed Him to a tree. So now Our Lord still warns us, The road to Heaven, is so very Narrow, If we have not Love, to give, He will favor more, the little Sparrow. Our Lord Has Mentioned, one other Place, If we follow not, His word too well, I think I've heard, of the deserted Land, The one that's known as Hell. Our Lord is not quite finished yet, To polish Our hearts with Love, He continues waiting, That we may share, In Heaven, beyond the Sky Above.
