"Jersey Shore" Poetry by Lee I have been dreaming of my Nancy, Of the distant Jersey shore, A land of the pretty autumn leaves, And my friend, that I adore. I hear about her lovely daughters, Endlessly jumping full of life, They remind me of my younger days, When I was just a tike. Rushing thriftly to the Malls, Before the rising, of the Sun, And maybe a visit, to the roller rink, Those days, were so much fun. My yesteryear as a lively teen, Was faded, and nearly gone, But I hear the joyful calling, Hey Dad, you wanna come along? The coolness of the Jersey breeze, Is calling, like the echos in the wind, My life may once, be young again, As this journey, now begins. When the evening sun is setting, And we bless the food upon the table, We will enjoy the family atmosphere, And to share an old time fable. And when the stars, slither out at night, A romantic mood, may be desert, With a lovely beauty, smiling at me, And her dog, who kisses with a slurp.
