Calcutta
Calcutta is the place I belong to, though I might be living in some other part of the world. A bit of romanticism you might think, but I am sure that's how most of us Calcatians feel. Once the capital of British India, it is now considered as the cultural capital of the country, considering its continuing contribution in the fields of Art and Culture. People who love to travel outside the mandatory checklist would love to visit the city. Here is an
article from the net you might enjoy reading.
I studied in the
Presidency College here and I am not trying to hide the hint of pride in my voice while talking about it.
Before we move on, here is one trivia. We all know about
"Oh Calcutta", but did you know that there was a film named
"Calcutta" made in the same year we got independence? An out and out thriller of the same genre of Swapan Kumar stories (I am sure many of my Bengali friends will never forget about these craps that we used to relish when we were kids), here is the poster of the film.
