Here are some books and some authors whom I liked. Don't venture for Classics as I am not a Classical person, so to say. This list represents some moments that were happy and some melancholy, but they left some impression for a while.

Bangla: "Na Hanyate" by Maitreyi Devi : never knew a romantic novel could reach such a literary height Bangla: "Purba Pashchim" by Sunil Gangopadhyay : a saga that captured the changing face of time Bangla: Narayan Sanyal : Master of all trades
English: The Queen of Crime: Agatha Christie English: Have read only 2 of Nick Hornby 's works (High Fidelity and About A Boy) and loved his wit and SoH English: To single out one reason for recommending this book, I would mention about the rare candidness of Khushwant Singh
