In younger age, sailed to East Africa some time in 1930's or 40's with the intention of settling abroad but was persuaded by his mother to return to Kodinar
Married to Motiben Lalani and together they raised five children Pyarali, Badrudin, Shahbudin (Shaban), Dolatkhanu (Daulat) and Kassamali all born in Kodinar.
