Nominated by moonlight: For some reason, the other day I remembered something priceless from the ULMB and I had to go back and read it again. I realized, hey, this should be on Rosa's page! ...so, I'd like to nominate Lackwit's description of a future urban legend..
What I immediately thought of when I heard "Future ULs"
Did you hear about the couple from Mare Serenitatis who left their baby with a Xenoborg babysitron? While they're at the classical music concert listening to Boston and Rush the wife psyconnects to the babysitron and asks how things are going.
"*beep* Adequately. I have put the galliform nutritive substance in the alpha-ray oven for you," the Xenoborg replies.
The wife disconnects, and a few minutes later she says to hubby, "Wait, we don't have a galliform nutritive substance in the refrigerizer."
They come home, only to discover that the Xenoborg had blown a transistor and had cooked the baby!
Or how about the girl from Nix Olympica who was piloting a pod alone around the Asteroid Belt when another pod comes up behind her and emits a warning beacon and comes dangerously close to her.
She changes course, the other pod follows her. S
he is getting worried, so she docks her pod at a space station on Ceres. The other pod also docks.
She exits her pod and runs for the security office of the station and screams, "Help!" The pilot of the other pod chases after her and shouts, "Wait, lady!" It turned out that the other pod pilot had detected a hostile alien lifeform hiding in her cargo area with a laser cutter in his tentacle!
