Obituary of Earl Stanley Spade


1909 - 1979



Mr. Earl S. Spade, 69, of Burkittsville, died Monday, Jan. 22, 1979 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Ina Clark Spade. He was born in Fulton County, Pa., April 23, 1909, a son of the late Anthony and Dacey Clark Spade.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, Frederick, and was a retired dairy farmer. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are seven daughters: Mrs. Charlotte Robbins of Monticello, Ark., Mrs. Patsy Luhn of Frederick, Mrs. Helen Hildebrand, of Middletown, Mrs. Pearl WoIfe of Harpers Ferry, W. Va., Mrs. BeuIah Bidle of Middletown, Mrs. Sandra Gowen of Frederick, and Mrs. Hope Lewis, Myersville; four sons: Stanley Spade of Houston, Texas, John Spade of Ozark, Ala., Harry Spade of Jefferson, and Perry Spade, Camp Le Jeune, N.C.; and 24 grandchidren.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, at the Gladhill Funeral Home in Middletown. The family will meet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25 at the funeral home. Rev. John W. Klages will officiate. Interment will be in Little Rose Hill Cemetery, Clear Spring. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, Rosemont Ave. Extended, Frederick.
