He was retired from the U .S. government as a procurement officer with the U .S Army Command Control Agency. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army with the 29th Infantry Division, where he was awarded the Bronze Star, the Combat Infantry Badge, the Good Conduct Medal, the Victory Medal, and the European Theatre of Operation Medal.
