~ Gone But Not Forgotten ~

Irene Marie Einspahr

1942 - 1963

Irene was born February 23, 1942 in Julesburg and passed away March 16, 1963. Twenty-one very short but SPECIAL years we had. There will always be an empty chair in our home.

She attended her grade school years in District # 17. Sunny Dale Country School. Veta Stalcup was County Superintendent. She had several good teachers. Jean Warren was her "favorite" in the country. Dale Brandt went 12 years to school wit her and Ray Race and Lonnie Peperkorn joined the country school for four years and also four years in Julesburg High School where they all graduated.

It is quite an adjustment to go to high school, although, she knew some from the Methodist Sunday School and she joined Rainbow Girls.

The first two years she stayed with Earl and Marie Mariatt, a second home for her. Then she went into an apartment, more fun there, I think!!

She liked Home Ec., F.H.A. and Music. Vera Randell came and helped the girls make tacos at our place. They had fun. When she graduated, she worked for Mary Holden's family at the A&W for the summer.

In the fall she went to Greeley to Beauty School. It was a goal of hers to be in her own shop - which she did have. She had several lovely ladies and a few others as customers and she worked hard to please people. She had a good disposition and was very friendly. Her memorial money was used for books in the Julesburg Public Library. Mrs. Theiss took care of it.

A favorite song that Irene liked was "A White Sports Coat and a Pink Carnation."

She had three Sisters.

Marva Eckert (Class of 1965) married and has two children. Wendee, age 28, and Nathan, age 17. One grandson, Grandon, age 3. Marva is employed at Highline Electric in Holyoke.

Barbara Einspahr (Class of 1969). She is employed by the State in Denver and lives in Parker, Colorado.

Mary McCannon (Class of 1978) married and has a boy Nicklas - ten and a girl - Amber, who is 8. She lives in Englewood and is employyed by the State Highway Office.

Both of her parents live in Holyoke. We have a lot of good memories of Irene and miss her happy smiles as she would come home from work and play the organ to relax. She helped me a lot as she loved to sew and cook.

The Einspahrs moved Irene from the Julesburg Cemetery to the Holyoke Cemetery.
