I worked for AT&T about 8 years after the service in the Quality Assurance Department and was going nowhere fast.
I applied for a position as a technical illustrator with United Technologies Inc., (UTC) and spent my next 12 years working for this company. I have, with my family, lived and worked in the following parts of the country: Los Angeles, CA., Portland, OR., Tucson, AZ., Mexico City, Bloomfield, Conn., Dade County Florida, and Albuquerque, NM.

I found a position working with Maricopa County (Phoenix, AZ.). I eventually transferred to the State of Arizona as an Information Engineer, a position that I currently hold. I am also a certified substitute teacher from kindergarten to the twelfth grade, and just recently got my certificate to teach junior college level classes in the State of Arizona.
I attended school to acquire my MBA in Management Information Systems, as well.
My family consists of my son, who was born while I was in the service, and three daughters. Two of my girls attended nursing school at the University of Arizona. My oldest girl is currently the department head for UDC homes in the carpets and tile division for the states of California, Nevada, and Arizona.
My wife, Gloria, is a sales associate with Broadway Department Stores. Today is Monday, the 17th of July, and it is our 29th anniversary! As yet, none of our kids are married, and therefore we have no grand kids. My wife and I have traveled to all of the islands that make up the State of Hawaii. Next year we are planning on a trip to Tahiti or a cruise to Alaska.
Over the years I have often wondered if Julesburg ever changed. One of the things that I miss was the County Fair. Do they still hold the parade and fair there at Julesburg? Will the class reunion date be close to the fair date? Do they still have the Buffalo Barbecue at Sedgwick? There are so many questions to ask about Julesburg and the people I graduated with in 1960. Anyway, I hope this letter in some way will shed light about what I have been doing for the past 40 years.
UPDATE
Sorry to be so late in responding, but here is some update information from my end of the country.
I am still working and enjoy what I do very much. I am the chief Information Officer for the Department of Agriculture or the HMIC (head Mexican in charge). The last time I sent you a bio about me was approximately 5-6 years ago.
To bring you up to current of what I have been doing is as follows:
I worked for United Technologies as an Assistant Plant Manager in Mexico and Mexico City for three years. I transferred to Connecticut (Hartford area) as the IT manager for the state of Connecticut. By this time my family was really tired of moving with me and I made the decision to quit United Technologies. Came back to Arizona and stated working for the State of Arizona as a systems and programs project leader. In this position I wrote a white paper on a special programming application. Had a chance to leave this department and went to the department of Agriculture. I became their Executive Management Consultant, Eventually I became their IT manager, MIS manager, Chief Information Officer or by what is currently the political correct name, I prefer HMIC.
I am very happy in what I do and when I do retire, I will teach at some of the private colleges (beer and fishing money). Over the years I have acquired properties in the mountains in Arizona (two cabins) plus I still have property in Iliff, Colorado. I have been married 35 years to the wonderful wife of mine (Gloria). On July 16, 2000 we will start our 36th year of marriage. My wife is a native of Phoenix Arizona as are my children. My children are as follows, my son Mark is 32 and married, his wife is Linda and they have a daughter Ashley. My next child is Teresa Hernandez-York married to Michael York and their son is Michael York III. (father is an attorney). My next child is Debbie Hernandez-Blum who is a Registered Nurse and is expecting (husband is Robert), this will be our second grandchild. My last child Sara (boyfriend is Nino Garcia) will graduate from ASU as Nurse and will probably marry and move to Tucson. My children range in age from 32 to 25 years. The young man who some day may become part of my family is Nino Garcia, who graduated from ASU as an Electrical Engineer, was asked by Motorola to do research in Beijing, China for three months. Nino now works as a test engineer for Raytheon in Tucson. I do enjoy life with my family and spend every moment I can with them. I also enjoy fishing and good whiskey. I am in good health (still have all of my teeth and hair) dont use Grecian formula and still bathe on Saturday night.
With that I will close while I am ahead. I have been working on my budget for the upcoming fiscal year, but decided to detour and write this message to you. Yes, Larry this is my state/work email account, but since I AM the HMIC, I will modify the rule. This will be the only way you will be able to send me any email.
