Gary Stretesky

Hi All -

Graduated from CSU

Started teaching Vocational Agriculture in secondary schools

Married Lola Cooper, an English teacher

The kidney stone Lola was diagnosed with turned out to be a very active baby boy, Paul Brent Stretesky, born in September.

Began managing greenhouses. Grew up to 6 million carnations per year and more than doubled the size of the operation to more than 5 acres under cover by 1979.

November 9th, Lola was planting tulips and on the 10th gave birth to a petite, beautiful baby girl - Gwenevere Dale Stretesky.

I moved to a propagation greenhouse, where we started up to 8 million carnations, 120,000 geraniums and 1544,000 hanging baskets per year and cut 20,000 tulips and 10,000 asters.

I quit my job and returned to school full time

Our son Paul graduated from CSU.
Gwenevere attended community college of Denver where she earned an Associate degree with an emphasis in Human Services.

I earned a degree in Environmental Science and put it to work at the Shattuck Chemical superfund site in Denver.

Lola earned her Masters degree in Information Science from Emporia State University by going on weekends. She has worked at the Auraria Library in Denver for 22 years. Paul also earned his Masters degree at CU in Denver.

We are grandparents. Gwenevere and her husband Eric had a baby boy, Vitali Taranto born in Houston, Texas.

Paul, now married to Christine Cachey, whom he met at the Attorney General’s Office in Denver, earned his PhD from Florida State University after spending a year writing his thesis in the Florida Keys.

I started a ground water monitoring job on another majordeactivation project.

Paul and his wife Chris, now living in Rochester, New York, where Paul is teaching, have a baby boy (Denver Stretesky). A good excuse for Lola and I to take a train ride to NY.

We are now eagerly awaiting two “new millennium” babies. One in Houston - so we will be headed there in August. After two years at RIT, Paul and Chris moved to Fort Collins and he is teaching at CSU, so we won’t be going far to meet Mason Stretesky when he or she arrives in October.
