| My name is Trudie Davidson, maiden name Starling. I was born in Whittlesford, Cambridgeshire in 1965 to Anthony and Margaret Starling. Married in 1985 to Nick, we have two lovely daughters and still live in Cambridgeshire. I first started researching my family history after looking through a family bible with one of my grandmothers. This bible related to my maternal side and was the obvious place to start as both grandparents were still alive and could fill in some missing details. My father’s side of the family was left for a while. I had always assumed they would be much harder as by then both grandparents had passed away, there were almost no photographs or certificates left behind and my father knew little about their respective families. My maternal side mostly came from the Cambridgeshire area and therefore research was relatively easy. However, not being able to just “pop” to Birmingham Record Office was the first major hurdle and with work and home commitments I have had to rely on sources such as the internet to aid my search. This site has been produced as a way of publishing my findings on this branch. It is an ongoing project and as I hopefully come across information it will be added.
