James Starling

James Starling was my grandfather. He was born on 28th June 1910 at 7 Green Street, Saltley, Birmingham but by the time he married Adelaide in 1937 was living in Darwin Street, Highgate and was working as a Corporation Train Conductor. James served some time in the Army and was also a boxer during this time. It is thought that James was one of about 11 children of Charles and Harriet Starling. The children that are mentioned on the 1901 census were:

  • Edward (b. 1894)
  • Katharine (b. 1896)
  • Moira? (b. 1897)
  • Sarah (b. 1899)
  • Charles (b. 1900)
