KVD 440

The car that left the assembly line was built in glass fibre on a steel frame (KVD 440). The components that was not manufactured by KVAB came from DAF 44 and had an electrical wiring on six volt. All cars that was built had right-hand drive and had a foldable seat that could be used as a seat for one passanger (with no demands for comfort) but was made to fit the Swedish Mail gray trays for holding mail. Entering the vehicle was easy and the driving position was upright. A large sliding door made the access to mailboxes easy. The rear door was in two halves, the lower part was folded downwards so it could be used as an extension to the cargo room floor, the top half opened upwards and was supported by springs. All together Tjorven was according "Postverket" specifications for the mail distribution car of the future.

Tjorven was also presented in other colors for the private consumersand had then a "real" passanger seat. All cars had never the less right-hand drive and the equipment was less than luxury.
