Nothing was owned in Altory at this time (1905), but the plot outlined in black in the lower right hand corner, partially in 26, and in 35, labeled "Barbara Cilek" is where I am told Fredrick Cristof's initial settlement was. That may explain the gap in Anna's story where she said they came to Decatur County in 1880, but did not homestead land in the Garfield Township until 1897, although, those dates may not be precise. However, on the Altory Taxpayer list it does show that at least from 1888-1892 they were still residents of Altory Township, but, by the time of the 1900 census, they resided in Garfield.
