At the age of five i started playing the four string banjo.At the age of seven i became involved in a household accident and lost the use of my right arm for two and a half years!This was my first music lesson,after my accident in 1947. I am 9 and a half in this picture an aboard the joe pommies,4-joes barber shop float. To my right with a bottle in his hand is my father Joe A Ponton, and to my left acting barber Joe Pommier,and in the barber's chair is Joe Legris and the far left is Joe Lafond.
