Two of the three crosses in this picture
were built by, myself and my friend
in
the late 90's.
They are used to hold candles
during a nine day Novena.
Each one
hold 225 candles
and are placed on each side
of a third cross which
I also made in
the mid 70's .
People come from all parts
of the world to participate
in the nine day
event.
It is held every year
on July 19th through the 28th
at the St. Anne Catholic
Church
in St .Anne Il.
The third and Largest
of the crosses holds 364 candle’s.
I have been questioned
by others
about the amount it holds .
I was asked if I forgot
how many days there
were in a year?
My answer
”How could I forget,
Jesus gave his life for us,
on
Good Friday and I
should remember this not
only on that day
but for the next 364
days
of each year to come!
