About the artist

Yar Mohammad Taraky _{is a professional artist. He started his way in to the visual arts more than 20 years ago. Yar began art lessons with Afghan artist Ustad Khair Mohammad. Latter in 1975 he attended Art school of the ministry of Culture of Afghanistan. By 1977 he participated in art exhibitions and competitions. Yar M. Taraky organized 10 personal exhibitions in Afghanistan, Europe and Canada. He also participated in more than 10 group exhibitions and shows. Yar M. Taraky has graduated from Uzbekistan fine art academy named after Behzad in 1994. His works are sold to art lovers in Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates, Russia, Poland, Germany, United States of America, Canada, Uzbekistan and India. He is working now on a large series of Afghan music and dance, which represents different Afghan ethnic musical instruments, dances and traditions. His paintings about Afghan music and dance show that there is still music and dance in this war rigid country.}
