Eric and Courtney Love were the two first members of Hole, and the only ones from the original line-up who didn't leave the band. When the band started, they were dating. Though they broke up not too long after they got together, Courtney says that he was one of the best boyfriends she ever had.
Courtney wasn't the only member of Hole who Eric dated. He and Kristen Pfaff, Hole's former bassist, were an item at one time, and they were very close. But in April of 1994, Eric found Kristen's body in the bathtub....she was dead. Kristen's death was caused by a heroin overdose.
Eric's last famous girlfriend was Drew Barrymore. It is said that they met when Drew was vomiting in Eric's shoes outside some show. Drew's apartment was decorated with stuff she and Eric had bought together, and Eric used to keep a daisy for her from every place he visited. Even after they broke up, Drew said she would "scream with great ferocity" at anyone who said something less than wonderful about Eric Erlandson.
