Geffen's statement read, in part:
"We are greatly saddened to learn of Kristen Pfaff's death and extend our sympathy to her friends family and other members of Hole"..."This is all the more tragic because she had gone through a drug- rehabilitation program this past winter and was in the process of moving back to Minneapolis to be with old friends until the Hole tour resumed"....."She made a unique and vital contribution to the creative force of that band. She will be sorely missed."
The statement from the Hole members was:
"We are deeply anguished by the loss of an extremely talented musician, beautiful soul, and a great friend. She was an intense player, scholar, and
passionate as a musician, and about life in every way"...."Fondly remembering our dear friend, bassist Kristen Pfaff, who left this demented, ugly world last June 1994. RIP."
Article by Simon Peter from 1996:
"I only met her once to interview her, but in the following months I talked to numerous people and discovered that Kristen left an exceptionally wide, positive influence during her five years in Minneapolis. It seems that everyone remotely involved in music in South Minneapolis knew her or knows somebody who knew her. There are dozens of people more qualified to write about her than I am, but I can simply say from observation that Kristen Pfaff's genuine presence went unusually far towards inspiring others. And from the short time I spent with her in that interview, I can see why. One handful of Kristen's friends even went so far as to create the Kristen Pfaff Memorial Scholarship Fund, which is designed to honor Kristen's independent, adventurous spirit. All proceeds from Stuck on AM: Off the Record in Minneapolis will go to the fund, via the nonprofit Minnesota Music Academy. The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded annually through 2001 to a chosen applicant who is working towards educational goals and is active in the arts."
