Guide to soloing idol of the thorned by Amithraril

It took me two tries to figure this camp out, and do it safely. So this is what I have learned as a 55 Paladin soloing this camp.

Insv down, head to chief’s area, stop at the ramp leading up to his area. This is where you will buff up and do your first pulls – only 2 roamers will argo on you here without insv. I waited on the Chief’s room roamer – he was my first kill. Then I pulled the right hand entrance guard 5 mins later, with a stun spell. Then the left one 5 mins after that one, again with Stun. 5 mins after you kill the left entrance guard, charge into the room and kill the Chief or it’s PH. Then I just sat on the wooden platform and waited for the repops. It only took 13 hours – 16 Chiefs, 9 Phers and 1 stupid death.

NOTES:
1> At 55 don’t chase runners, they will come back on their own, without friends – but if you chase it you will argo everthing.
2> At 55 from the wooden platform you can pull any named mob, by its self.
3> Depreds are SK’s and HT so watch out.
4> Keep your Resist Magic up at all times, your stuns don’t recharge fast enough to stop a lot of the casters.
5> If the Chief spawns with a knife in its right hand, that’s the sticker, If its left hand is blinking red then it has the Essence, when you don’t see ether of them it has your idol.

I hope this will help my brother and Sisters not to make the same mistake I did, and make it a lot safer camp.

Guide to soloing idol of the thorned (Guide Two)

not bad but i would add a few suggestions for those who want to solo this without being in the zone before, dying here sucks badly as you are usually the only one there...

-i have done a lot of soloing in dungeons and imho 2 essentials are:

1. a gate potion (new thurgadin one is great) getting a port to dl from thurg and running back to your camp is much easier then trying to convince a cleric to run to droga, trust me - i did both

2. dw helm, make a macro key to meditate between dw heals, you can med a full bubble of mana if you need to heal to full hp

as far as droga goes:

-bring many invis potions, i always brought 8-10, one to run down, one to use when that one runs out halfway into the dungeon, one to do cr after you die the first time, one when that one runs out halfway down, one for the dumb warrior checking out the zone who fell in the hole, etc...

-hotkey your extra invis potion

-use the 2 droga maps at eqatlas, pay attention, if you get lost don't run around - check your loc check your sense heading and go, don't panic

-the biggest problem when you break the camp is if there are 2 healers at the top, then be very careful as the second mob wont aggro you but he will heal the first

-space the mobs, 3-4 min sounds about right, if you get 2 healers at a time you may get in trouble (mobs that heal are Goblin Adept, Goblin Legate, and A Maddened Burynai , there may be others but those are the main healers) i saw a 60 mage die in here because he ran in wasted all 4 goblins immediately then had 3 healers spawn on him, i forget the repop time but i want to say 20min

-after that just sit there and kill a goblin every 5 minutes and don't run out of mana so you can stun the healers

-the camp can seem really easy, but it can also get out of hand if you get into your /gems game too much
