waves
(9th grade)
RUMBLING WAVES,
COMING ASHORE.
GLISTENING LIKE GLASS,
AS THE WATER MOVES.
SLOSHING, SILVERY WATER,
ROAMS AND ROARS ACROSS THE SEA.
BLUE LIQUID FREEZING MY FEET,
AS I STAND IN THE SLOSHY SAND.
I SEE SOFT, BLUE WATER,
COMING TOWARDS ME.
AS THE WAVES ROLL IN,
THE TIPS LOOK LIKE
MERINGUE.
WARM, THICK WATER,
RUSHING UP TOWARDS ME
LIKE I HAVE SOMETHING FOR THEM.
ALL I CAN DO IS
SWIM IN THEIR OCEAN.
