y'all are trippin' with that tomahawk chop, y'all need to stop

the other night, this guy i work with wore this cleveland indians hat...okay...you say, so what? well, it had that damn lil chief wahoo or whatever the hell the name of their mascot is. i told him it was racist. he said, not my problem, i didn't make the hat. maybe not, my bastardly friend, but you sure as hell bought it and wore it. if i was to go to work wearing a shirt, hat, or anything else emblazoned with a stereotypical or racist picture or saying of a black man i would be told to change or go home, and rightfully so. that sort of thing has no damn place anywhere let alone at work.

so why is it that he can wear that hat, and anyone else could just walk in there with a redskins shirt on? "it's just a team name", you say. know what? native americans aren't mascots. we're people. and i for one am about sick and damn tired of everyone thinking it's okay to be racist about native americans when it's so damned wrong for everyone else.

now before anyone gets all upset at me, i am not saying that it should be okay to be racist about ANYone. no no no. racism is an outlet of a small mind. i could care less what color you are relative to whether i like you or not. ignorance and being a dumbass knows no color, my friend. you can be a moron no matter what race or creed or color you are. all i am saying is that if it's going to be wrong to use the black community and other racial groups as emblems like that, why shouldn't it be wrong for the cleveland indians and the washington redskins and the florida state seminoles and the atlanta braves and every damn fuckin high school that calls itself one of a dozen offensive names? someone tell me that. explain it well. give me charts and bibliographies. give me logic and anything that makes sense and i'll shut up. until then (and i am not holding my breath, mind you), i will continue to bitch and yell and cause a scene.

...thus spake the munkies and it was good.
