SUCH A PRETTY SMiLE I wrote this a few years ago. It's pretty much telling the story of my coming into depression and the recognition of needing help. As stated, it's older than the lot of these. It's been revised. The original poem had a few more lines, but they made no sense; I just needed rhymes. Written May 3, 2002.

Prize Doll

"Such a pretty smile,"
They always used to say.
"Such a pretty smile
That will never fade away."
Then that pretty smile
Turned to a horrid frown
As my age grew in number
And I took off the princess crown.
I try so hard to see the light,
But maybe it's just me.
Maybe this frown is permanent
Like the scar upon my knee.
I want to smile and laugh again..
..Maybe someday.
