Hello. Welcome to Part 2, of my short story! In the first short story, I mentioned how me and Yvette got together. That story was up until the end of May of 2002. This is the next edition of our love story! I hope you enjoy it!

In holy matrimony!

I'll never forget the day of May 26th, 2002. That was the day before I was to move to Toronto, Ontario, to be with my fiancee, Yvette. It was one of the happiest days of my life. At the same time, it was also one of the hardest. Being that I had to say my goodbyes to my family and friends in Indiana. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do in my life. I knew I was gaining alot by moving from my home country, for a new one. I was gaining even more family, love and happiness.

Times were rough for me, money wise then. I was out of a job, didn't have a car, so it was pretty hectic. That didn't stop me from getting the money I needed to move to Canada, though. I sold over 250 movies, my television, VCR, stereo and anything else I didn't need, to help with moving costs. I bought me some new luggage, bus ticket to Canada, a passport, some new clothes. All I took with me was all of my clothes, gifts that Yvette had given me over the past year, pictures and a few music tapes that I had. That didn't matter to me. Those were just materialistic objects. What I had in Canada, was worth more than anything in the world. I had my one and only true love, Yvette, waiting for me with arms wide open.

So, it had come to pass. At 4:30 a.m. I called a taxi, to take me to the Greyhound bus station, in Louisville, Kentucky. I had two suitcases and a small carry on bag with me. I figured that it wouldn't be that busy, seeing as how it was that early on a Monday morning and all. Boy, was I ever shocked when I came into the bus terminal, with lines backed up to China! It took me 45 minutes to get my baggage checked in. I barely caught a seat on the bus, that went to Cincinatti, Ohio. I was scrunched in the back seat, with two other people. Greyhound has some pretty comfortable seats, I'll give them that much. I was pretty tired, because I hadn't slept none the night before. I was too excited and nervous to even think about sleeping. I was on a journey, into a new country. A country, where my baby doll awaited!

All in all, the bus trip took about 16 hours. A pretty long ride, if you ask me. Especially with little, to no sleep. I couldn't fall asleep on that bus for nothing. It was a pretty smooth trip, with one exception. That was when I came to the Canada/U.S. border at the Peace bridge, in Buffalo, New York. I knew what procedures you had to go through, to make it through the border. I was always scared that I wouldn't make it through the border, especially if I told them why I was coming into Canada. They unloaded the entire bus into the Customs building. They ask you the generic questions, "Where are you going? How long are you staying? Who do you know in Canada." and so on. Well, I was going smoothly, until I mentioned how long I wanted to stay. I said I was coming to stay for the summer. The customs officer looked at me like i had committed a crime or something. She said, "I don't know if the immigration officer will grant you a visitor record for that length of time. You'll have to go to next door, to talk to immigration." She handed me a piece of folded up paper. I made my way out the customs building and walked next door, with my heavy ass luggage in had. I finally arrived in there and an old gentleman led me into a small room, where he closed the door. He asked me the same questions as the customs officer. I answered him, with the same answers. That I wanted to visit my fiancee in Toronto for the summer. He was like, "Do you have enough money on you? Do you have a criminal record? Where did you meet her? How long have you been together. Why are you staying for so long? Don't you have a job? If so, can you prove that you work there." Of course, I had back up. I had 200 dollars on me and I had a letter from Yvette, written, stating that she would help me financially during my entire stay. That took care of that part. However, he took my passport and handed it to another officer and said, "Run a check on this gentleman, please." So, they ran my name through the FBI criminal records database, to see if I was lying about not having a criminal record. I was kind of nervous, because I did have a Disorderly conduct charge in 1996. I told him about it and he said not to worry about it. That it wasn't a big enough charge to keep me out of Canada. He then asked me for Yvette's phone number so he could call and confirm my story. So, he called her and our story matched. "Whew!" I said to myself. If one thing hadn't matched, he said he wouldn't have let me into Canada and would have made me turn back. After a few more minutes of questioning, the other officer with my passport came back. She said, "It came back clear, sir." He thanked her and I felt a little better about that. He questioned me a little longer until the point where I didn't think I was going to see my sweetie pie anytime soon. He was saying stuff like, "How can you prove to me that you won't try and live here illegaly, blah blah blah." I did my best to persuade him of my intentions. He had me in tears at that point. I cried out, "Am I going to get to see my sweetheart?" He looked at me and smiled, "Of course, sir. Calm down, everything checked out fine. Here is your visitor's record." It was a sheet of paper that proved I had legal status in Canada for three months. I was finally free of the strain of the immigration/customs officers. I was on my way to see my sweetheart!!!!

I finally arrived at the Toronto bus terminal at around 10:00 p.m., I'd say. I got off the bus, collected my luggage. I looked around to see if I could see Yvette. Finally, after two minutes or so, I see her walking up to me. It was one of the greatest feelings and moments of my life. I was back in my baby doll's arms, once again, where I rightfully belong! We hugged there for a good while. We had a cigarette together and just got lost into each other's eyes. It was awesome! Finally, we made our way to the subway, to head to my new home! I had never been on a subway before, so normally I would have been excited. After riding on a bus for 16 hours, one's excitement tends to wear off after awhile. We finally boarded the subway about 15 minutes later.

After arriving at the subway station near our apartment, we caught the city bus. Instead of heading straight for home, we decided to get off a little further down the street. We ate at McDonald's. So, if anyone ever asks me what the first thing I ever ate in Canada was, I can tell them McDonald's. Haha! We finally made our way home, where I unpacked and made myself at home, literally. I was happy as a lark! I was finally with my sweetheart!!!!!!!!! The only thing that sucked was she had to be up for work early the next morning. However, that didn't stop her from staying up and keeping me company. We laid together and just talked. Talked about everything under the moon! (Sun during the day, moon during the night!)

The first month living in Canada was very confusing to me! For instance, I wasn't used to buying milk in bags instead of a plastic gallon. There are a lot of differences up here, then there is in the states. What I did like most was when I brought 200 bucks, it changed into 300! What I didn't like was the price of cigarettes, oh my goodness! They range from 54 dollars to 60 dollars, for a carton. They mainly sell cigarettes in packs of 25s. If you are looking for miles per hour on road signs, think again. It's kilometers per hour. If you want a fill up at the gas station, it's not by the gallon, but liters instead. If you want to spell "color, favorite, theater, harbor, etc" just the way you normally would, they'll think you're crazy. If you go into a bar and grill and ask to use the bathroom or restroom, they'll be like, "Huh? Oh, you mean WASHROOM!" If you go into the grocery store expecting to find biscuits, think again. If you want Marlbors, you're out of luck. Well, they do have Marlboros, but they are made by a totally DIFFERENT tobacco company and they taste like beetle dung! As you can see, there are some differences that I had to grow accustomed to. No White Castles, no Rally's, no Captain D's, no Big Red sodas, no Basic cigarettes, no NOTHIN'! Oh yeah, I'll never be caught dead saying, "Eh!" in my lifetime. Oh wait, I just said it! Whoopsy! But, nevertheless, I still love it here and I wouldn't change anything about it. (Except for the cold ass weather and so much hockey on TV!)

Yvette showed me around. I would have gotten lost if I even went down the street without her by my side. We've went to the beach, harborfront, Wonderland amusement park, parks galore and hell, even Niagara Falls! You could say that I've been on a roller coaster ride of my life since I came here. It's been the greatest! Yvette also got me addicted to bingo! Not to mention kitty cats, Du Maurier cigarettes and movies! Well, I have always been a movie buff, but we LOVE watching movies, when we get the chance! There isn't one thing that we haven't done. Barbecues, walks under the moonlight, swimming, shooting pool, shopping and more shopping! Hell, I could say that I've done more in the past four months, than I've done in my entire life! But, the greatest experience of my life happened on August 10th, 2002!

That is the day me and her walked down the aisle. The day we said our vows! The pact to be together for the rest of our lives. To always be for one another, as long as we both live. We didn't need a big, expensive wedding to make us happy. All we needed was each other! We had an old fashioned wedding, with about 10 or 11 people. That was fine with me! The only thing that would have put the cherry on top of the cake, would have been if my parents and family were able to attend our wedding. It was still the greatest day of my life, though. I'll never forget that night.

The Reverend was suppose to meet at at the chapel fifteen minutes before the wedding. However, it didn't quite work that way. Come to find out, he went to the wrong place, in downtown Toronto. So, he ended up getting there I'd say about thirty or so minutes late. It had me worried up a storm. I thought for sure I'd have to reschedule. Everything worked out in the end and we laughed about it afterwards! Here are a few pictures from the wedding, to get an idea how happy we looked!

As you can see, everything went very well and smoothly that night! It was the beginning of the rest of our lives together, as husband and wife!

Who could forget about the honeymoon? I know I sure can't! Yvette decided on going to Niagara Falls. Which was okay by me, considering that I had always wanted to go there since I was a little kid! All of my wishes in life seem to be coming true and they did! That same night, we hopped on a Greyhound bus (Yuck! Another Greyhound!) and made our way to the spectacle, that is known as Niagara Falls.

We got there at around midnight. We didn't see any taxis, so we went to have a cigarette. We saw a bus stop in front of us, so we started talking to the bus driver. She told us where everything was and where to go to see everything. She even gave us a free lift to Clifton Hill. Which is the main street that goes down a big, steep hill, towards the falls of Niagara. It was beautiful! It looked like something you'd see in Las Vegas. Lights twinkling galore. Souvineer shops, restaraunts, tourist attractions, thousands of people everywhere! But, best of all, other than the falls itself, was Casino Niagara. That's where we spent the first full entire night at. We had originally planned to go to Niagara Falls the day after the wedding. But, we changed those plans quickly and tried our damndest to book a room once we got there. I s@#t you not, we called at least 60 motels/hotels within an hour time frame to seek a room. We didn't have ANY luck, whatsoever. The only available room was at the Sheraton, I believe. They were asking almost 500 dollars for one night. I was like, "Are you @$$%ing crazy!" So, instead, we played our hearts out at the casino from around 1 a.m., until noon the next day!!! I walked in the casino with about 80 bucks! I played for almost half a freaking day and came out with over 600 dollars in my pocket! Yvette didn't do too bad, but not as good as I did. After an hour or so of playing the slots, I hit a jackpot of 317 bucks. I then went on to hit 3 more small jackpots that same night. I was on fire! The funnest game I'd have to say was a game called, "Winning Streak" Yvette's favorite was the "Piggy Big Bank Game" Free cokes, my new wife, winning our asses off, good food, what more could a new couple on their honeymoon ask for? It was great! I'll never forget that day, or night, for the rest of my life! Thanks baby doll, for making it happen. You are the greatest woman I've ever met! Not to mention the hardest working woman I've ever met. You can't find a better all around person, than Yvette, in my opinion. That is why god blessed me with her!

Well, here we are today. Almost two months after getting married, we are still going strong, as happy as ever! I forgot to mention that we went to a nice dinner, set up by Yvette's parents. They treated everyone to a luxurious dinner, wine and anything else we could get our hands on. I wish to thank them for their genorousity, kindness and so much more. I'd like to thank all of her family and friends that came to the wedding and to dinner afterwards. My family has become bigger and better.

In closing, all I have to say left is three things. First off, I love you, Yvette. Without you, I'd be surely lost. Thank you for everything, my precious gem. Secondly, I'd like to thank my family in the states, for their support, love and kindness. They love Yvette to pieces, as do I. Finally, I want to thank god, for everything he has given to me. My life, my wife, my family, my friends, a chance to live my life to the fullest. Without the man upstairs, all of this wouldn't be possible.

You think I may be getting ready to say, "The End!" but, you are so, so wrong. Our first chapter in our life hasn't even begin to finish. We are on are way down the road of love, happiness, tenderness and soon, one day, we look forward to having a child or children of our own. God willing, of course. Thank you for taking the time out to read about our little love story. If it brought a smile to your face, then I feel I have accomplished a lot!

This website is dedicated to Yvette, my love, my wife, my all, my heart, my soul, my mind, my body, my ever reason to go on living, my everything, my soulmate, my best friend, my smiley roobi deary and most sexiest, sweetest, kindest, most gentle, loving, tender-hearted, romantic, most thoughtful, giving woman I could have ever dreamed of having. You are my life, Yvette!

The End... for now...
