Just to make sure you remember this, you use the and click on the area that you want to shade. It should highlight to look like the picture. |
So now that your all nice and highlighted, you can start shading. Click on the button. Using the Tool Options pallet, set Darken RGB to the numbers that are shown on my lovely little example. Shade some shadows in on the shirt, where you might find folds on the clothing. This shadows the clothing. |
Yay. Now, still using the Retouch tool, change the Tools Options pallet to match the numbers on my lovely example #2. Then lighten in between the dark areas. This just gives it a little more sharpness. Try to shade in nice fluid movments, rather than just line-line-line. Either works though XD And tada! After that, you have a pretty shaded shirt. |
Now I hope you know how to highlight with the so I'm skipping the explanation behind that step. Highlight the pants. Once you've highlighted what you want to shade click the tool again and set it to Darken RGB. The numbers should already be set. You can change the size to a little bigger if you have a bigger doll. Once again, darken where there might be folds or shadows, especially around the crotch, and the knees and below. |
Like with the shirt, change the Tools Options pallet to Lighten RGB and, if wished, change the size accordingly. Once again shade in between the dark spots. |
This step is optional. Reset the Tools Options pallet to Darken RGB and change the size to about 7 if you used 5 to shade. Then shadow some of the sides, like where the pants might be a little darker. Then reset Tools Options to Lighten RGB and reset the lighten the same way, shading where the light might hit the pants to make them shine (likely down the middle). If this is confusing just skip it, it works without it. |
