For the Autumnal Equinox our grove went to Crystal Lake to attend Ravenswood Grove ritual. It was nice to get out of the city and into the countryside for a celebration. As well as celebrating the equinox, we celebrated the ADF unity ritual and we had a dedicant clergy ordination. This was my first ADF Autumnal Equinox and clergy ordination. The Arch Druid Skip Ellison was there as well. Interestingly, there was someone taping the ritual for their post doctorate, he was doing his post doc on why people are leaving Christian Churches for "alternative" religions. Apparently he is studying at an Evengelical university, so that's interesting. Some people were not comfortable with being taped so they stayed out of the eye of the camera. (Of course, somehow I managed to end up directly in front of the darn thing)
The rite was Nordic and the patron diety for this rite was the Nordic Goddess Sif. I performed the offering to the Outsiders. The omen was done with Tarot and was the Page of Rods, The Hanged Man, and the Devil. Afterwards, we feasted on spaghetti and garlic bread.
