As far as clothes go, you don't have to spend an arm and leg to get really good gothic clothes. I find a good deal of my stuff at Wal-Mart and Fashion Bug. It is all in how you put things together. Thrift shops are also a great place to get unique items. Also never be afraid to make or modify something you have. Electrical tape and grommets from the craft section at Wal-Mart are a great way to change the look of an outfit. Experiment and see what you like. Trash what you don't. Just keep in mind that not everything you wear has to be official goth-wear. One of two more expensive items you can't live without is fine, but for a plain black shirt there is just no point in paying 50$ at hot-topic when you can get it for 5$ at a local store.
