"Hey guys, I have an assignment for you," Shannon told the five guys.

"What?," asked JC.

"Look," she said as she waved her hand. The guys looked straight ahead and they saw a girl, sitting on a bed.

"She looks sad," commented Justin.

Shannon nodded,"She is."

"Why?," asked Joey.

"That's why." Shannon answered, while pointing. The guys looked and couldn't believe what they were seeing. A woman walked into the room and was yelling with anger. She walked over to the girl and grabbed her by the shoulders, shaking her.

"Why are you just sitting here?!," the lady yelled.

The girl looked at her in fear and stuttered,"I-I finished t-the d-dishes."

"And, you couldn't find anything else useful to do?! Get of your lazy butt once in a while!" The lady swung her left hand to the right and backhanded the girl with a force that kncoked here head to the side.

"Please s-stop," the girl sobbed, as the lady continued to hit her. Shannon waved her hand and the picture disappeared.

"What was that all about?," Chris quietly asked.

Shannon sighed and began her answer. "I'm going to give you some background information on the girl. Her name is Ariella Matthews and she's ten. She lives with her stepmother, her mom died when she was six and her dad remarried when she was seven. Well, her dad died last year in a car accident and custody was given to her stepmother, Bella. Your assignment is to go down there and kind of watch out for her. You can't interfere, you're just suppossed to be there for her. Any questions?"

"How long are we suppossed to be down there?," asked Lance.

Shannon shrugged,"Until God says that you're through."

The guys nodded and Shannon said,"I'll need to make you guys her age, so she doesn't get scared of you or anything." She waved her hands around and when the smoke cleared there were five ten-year-olds standing before her.

"Okay, you ready guys?"

They nodded and she said,"Okay." She snapped her fingers and the guys felt themselves falling.

After what seemed like hours, the five 'guys' finally landed on solid ground. The slowly got up and Justin, with a hand to his forehead, said,"No matter how many times you do that, you never get used to it." The others laughed and agreed.

"Well, I guess we'd better get to finding Ariella." Lance stated.

"Yeah, let's go." Replied JC. They started walking in the direction that Sharon had told them to.

"There she is!," exclaimed Joey.

"Where?," asked Chris.

"In that window," Joey said while pointing her out. They looked where Joey was pointing and saw Ariella in a window of a two-story house.

"How should we go about this?," asked Justin.

"We'll just tell her the truth. We'll climb up that tree and tell her." Joey said.

Will she believe us?," asked Lance.

"She will, we're telling the truth." JC said with confidence. The other four nodded and started up the tree.

Ariella looked up in shock when she heard a noise outside her window. Her eyes grew wide as she saw the five boys climbing the tree to her window. When they reached the top, JC said,"Don't be scared Ariella."

"How do you know my name?," she shakily asked.

Justin smiled,"God heard your prayers. He sent us here."

Ariella narrowed her eyes,"Right. Nice joke guys, really."

Chris shook his head,"It's not a joke." Joey snapped his fingers and the five guys turned to their original age, twenty-one.

Ariella's eyes grew as round as silver dollars,"You weren't lying."
The five guys shook their head simutainously and JC said,"We weren't. But, nobody can know what we are. Okay?"

She nodded,"I promise I won't tell."
Justin smiled,"Cool." They snapped their fingers and they were ten-year-olds once again.

"That's cool," Ariella said with a small smile.

"We aim to please," Justin said with a laugh.

"So, how do you guys plan on helping me?" Ariella asked, shyly.

"Well, we're here for you to talk to and all. We can't interfere with anything that happens, but you can tell us anything." JC said with a gently smile.

Ariella sighed,"I guess you guys can't help me with my step-mother then." The five 'boys' sadly shook their heads and she added,"Oh well." They were all quiet for a minute and she asked,"What's heaven like?"

The five 'boys' smiled and Chris said,"It's da bomb! You have anything you could possibly want and you get to live with your Heavenly Father for all of eternity."

"Sounds nice," she said wistfully.

"It is," Joey replied.

Ariella looked at her clock and said,"I have to get to school."

"We'll walk with you. But, you may not want to talk to us in class or anything, because you're the only one that can see us." JC said. Ariella nodded in understanding and shut the window. She grabbed her lunch and books and walked outside and over to the guys.

"You walk by yourself to school?," Justin asked with concern.

Ariella shrugged,"It's okay."

Ten minutes later they were at the school building, so they walked in. Ariella went into the class and the teacher looked at her. Justin, JC, Joey, Lance, and Chris could all tell that the teacher had a feeling of what was going on with Ariella, but she didn't question her about it. "Why doesn't she ask Ariella what's going on?," Lance asked. The others shrugged. At noon the classes were dismissed for lunch and recess. Ariella went outside, to a swing, to eat and the 'boys' followed her. The swing was mostly secluded, so Ariella started talking to them.

"Why do you guys look my age?"

"Well," Lance began,"it's to make you feel more comfortable."

"Oh, thanks," she whispered.

"Are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?," asked Justin.

She shook her head,"Not really. That's why I like school, it's like an escape for a few hours."

"Okay," said Joey. They all sat and talked for half-an-hour before the bell rang.
