"You what?!," exclaimed Lance Bass. His bandmate Justin Timberlake and his girlfriend, Alicia Barnes, cringed.

"Justin and I spent some time together, while he was waiting to go on tour, and you were gone. We didn't mean for this to happen!," answered Alicia.

"What do you mean you didn't mean for it to happen? You just fell into bed with him?!," asked an angry Lance.

"We’re sorry Lance," said Justin.

"So much good that does now, Justin. I trusted you, you're like a brother to me!" He then turned to Alicia. "And, you, Alicia. I trusted and loved you. How could you guys do this?"

"We're sorry Lance. But you were gone again and I was lonley. But we didn't plan it. We started hanging out and a couple of weeks later, it happened," answered Alicia.

Lance looked at them, "Neither of you thought about what you were doing? I can't believe that! Do you guys love each other, or was it a one-time thing?"

Justin answered, "We felt a connection. But honestly, we really don't know if is love or could ever be love."

Lance closed his eyes, willing the tears back, and said, "This is the worst betrayal that anyone could ever do to me." He paused and looked at Alicia. "Alicia, you knew when you got with me that I was gone a lot on buissness, and you were more than welcome to come. But, you always declined, because of your job. Well, now I'm starting to doubt that, and I have no trust left in you. Needless to say, it's over with us." He turned and faced Justin. "Justin, I've always thought of you as a brother. But I guess what people say is true, you only think of yourself. You always have to have everything! My trust is also gone in you." With all that said, Lance stood up, and started for the door.

"Please, Lance, don't do this!," cried Alicia. Lance turned to face them, eyes blazing,"I don't want to hear ANYTHING either of you have to say! GOODBYE!!!" With that, he walked out, slamming the door to Alicia's apartment behind him.

Lance drove to his house, walked in, and fell on the couch. The tears that he'd been holding in, cascaded down his face in rivers. 'How could they?!,' he yelled silently. He sat back on the couch and closed his eyes. His mind kept going over and over the conversation that had just take place an hour before. 'How could they betray me?,' he asked silently. He'd never felt more betrayed or heartbroken in his life.

Two Weeks Later

Two weeks had passed and nobody could get a hold of Lance. Alicia, Justin and the other guys tried over and over to call him and page him, and he would never answer their calls. "Where is he?!," asked a frantic Justin. Him, Alicia, Joey, JC and Chris were all at Justin's house.

"This is all our fault!," Alicia cried as she looked at Justin. Justin sadly nodded. Just then the phone rang.

"Hello? Lance?," asked Justin.

"No," came the soft voice, "This is Diane. We just got word today that Lance is in the hospital. He got hit by a drunk driver early this morning, and he's in ICU."

"Oh my God, thank you for informing me. The others and I will be down there ASAP!" They said their goodbyes and hung up, as Justin turned to the others.

"Who was that?," questioned Chris.

"Diane. She said that they got word that Lance is in ICU. He was hit by a drunk driver early this morning!"

"What?!," everyone yelled.

"Let's go!," exclaimed Joey as he jumped up from the sofa. They all ran out to their cars and started the drive to Orlando General.

"We need Lance Bass's room number!" Said a frantic JC as they ran up to the ICU nurses' desk.

"What's your relation to the patient?," asked the nurse.

"Me and the other guys are in the band with him, we're his best friends," answered an impatient Joey.

"I'm sorry but only family is permitted to see him right now,” she said.

"But...but we're pratically family!," exclaimed a frustrated Alicia.

"I'm sorry but....," started the nurse.

Diane, Lance's mother, interupted her, "It's okay. We want them to be able to see him." The nurse sighed but finally nodded. Alicia and the guys followed Diane to her son's room, stopping outside the door.

"I must warn y'all. You're probley going to be shocked at what you see. Lance is hooked up to several machines and needles." Diane explained. They nodded and Diane said, "I'm going to go to the cafateria to be with James and Stacy. We'll give you all some time to be alone with him. We'll be back up here in a few minutes," Diane said as she started crying.

"Okay," said Joey as they all hugged Diane. After she had walked away, they all filed into Lance's room, gasping at the sight of him.

'Lance looks so fragile,' thought Chris as they looked at him. Lance was hooked up to a ventilator, a heart monitor, and a blood pressure monitor. He also had three different IVs in his arms. His eyes were closed and he was as white as the bed sheets he was laying on.

They crowded around his bed and JC, softly, said, "Lance? Can you hear us?" They saw his eyes flutter, but they remained closed.

"Lance, we're all here. Your family will be back in a couple of minutes," Joey said. All of them, except Justin and Alicia, talked to him for a few minutes.

'What should I say?,' thought Alicia.

"Look, his eyes are opening!," exclaimed Justin. Lance's eyes popped open and he started gasping for breath. His monitors started going crazy and a nurse immediatly ran in. She rushed over to Lance and hit a button on the wall.

"Code Blue! Code Blue! Room 435 ICU!," they heard over a loudspeaker. Diane, James and Stacy had ran into the room just as three doctors and two nurses had reached Lance.

"What's going on?!," asked a frantic Diane.

"We don't know, he just started gasping for breath and his eyes popped open," said a teary Alicia.

"I'm going to have to ask you all to wait outside," said a nurse. They nodded and walked out the door into the hall. They looked through the window and saw the medical staff working on Lance. A doctor took the respirator out and grabbed the paddles. He shocked him, but nothing happend.

"Oh my God!," sobbed Stacy, Lance's sister.

James and Diane hugged their daughter and James said, "We have to pray that Lance will be okay." About ten minutes had passed when they saw a doctor pull off his rubber gloves and sadly shake his head. He said something to a nurse, who wrote it down, and walked out into the hall.

"What's going on?," asked Joey.

"I can't answer that. The doctor will be out in a second," answered the nurse as she walked off.

"Are you here for Lance Bass?," the doctor asked a minute later.

All eight of them nodded and James softly asked, "It's too late, isn't it?"

The doctor sighed and nodded his head, "I'm sorry. We tried everything we could but his body just couldn't handle the damage done by the accident. You can all go in and say your final goodbyes."

"Th-thank you Doc-Doctor," said Diane. The doctor nodded and walked off. They walked in and walked over to Lance's body.

"He's in a better place now," said James. Diane couldn't take and broke down into heart-wrenching sobs. "Come on, sweetie," said James.

Diane leaned over and kissed Lance's temple, "Bye, sweetie." Stacy kissed her brother goodbye and followed her parents out of the room. Justin was standing in a corner, silently crying.

"Are you okay?," asked Alicia. He shook his head and broke into bone-racking sobs.

"Justin...let it out," said JC.

"It's ju-just that....Alicia and I n-never got to make p-peace with Lance. Over what we did, we never got his for-forgiveness."

"I know Justin, and I deeply regret that! We all have to lean on each other to get through this." Alicia answered.

One Week Later

"Thank you all for helping with this," said Stacy.

"It's no problem," said Chris. They were all over at Lance's house, helping his family go through his belongings. They were in the study going through his files and all, determining what to keep and what to throw away.

"Hey, Alicia, Justin, these are for you." Said JC, who was holding two peices of paper.

"What are they?," asked Alicia.

"They look like letters," said Justin as he started to read. As he read the words his eyes teared up.

Dear JuJu, I'm not quite sure why, but I have the strongest feeling that I need to write you and Alicia a letter. It's three-thirty in the morning, so I know you're in bed, or I would've called. But, I'm writing this, so I can get it mailed out this afternoon, when I get back from FreeLance. I know you and Alicia feel bad for what you did, and I was extremley hurt and betrayed by it. But, over these last couple of weeks, I've spent a lot of time thinking. We have a bond, we're like brothers, and I'm not going to let that slip away. We need to get together and talk this out this week. But, I forgive you and Alicia.

I love ya man,

Scoop

"What is it?," asked Chris when he saw the tears flowing down Justin's face.

Justin gave a smile, "Forgiveness, Chris. Forgiveness has happened."
