Things to see In Prague
Prague has long been an important city in the Eastern section of Europe. During the reign of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles I, it became larger than both the cities of London and Paris and was instrumental in establishing the building of many institutions, including the 1st University of Central Europe. Prague did not become a capital city until 1918 when the republic of Czechoslovakia became an independent nation. Prague was occupied by both the Nazis and the Communists in the latter part of the 20th Century and, with the collapse of Communism in Europe in 1989, once again became an independant capital city.
